[US] Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner sees "encouraging signs" in the US economy, but said it will take some time to work through. Speaking on CBS-TV's "Face the Nation" program; Geithner added that if banks needed exceptional assistance in the future, the administration wouldn't spare bank management if such changes would help the institutions. Geithner also held out the possibility of more aid to banks and said the the US would do what is necessary to make sure the banking system emerges stronger.
